CrossFit Quarterfinals 2023 - Everything You Need To Know

Whilst the CrossFit Open is over for another year, the top 10% of athletes have managed to progress to the next round of the CrossFit competition for 2023 - the Quarter Finals.


Below, we tell you everything you need to know about the CrossFit Quarter Finals. This will be a live article, getting updated as soon as information is published:


CrossFit Quarterfinals Qualification Criteria 2023


The top 10% of individuals, the top 10% of age-group athletes in each division, and the top 25% of teams per region from the Open will be invited to compete in the Quarterfinals.


This round of competition is virtual, with tests released and scores submitted via the CrossFit Games website and/or app. The Quarterfinals are broken up into different competition windows depending on your division. Each competition window will require specific scores to be submitted, and deadlines are final.


 

CrossFit Quarterfinals - Individual Competition Dates


Competition will run from March 16 through March 19. There are three score-submission windows that are 24 hours each. During each score-submission window, athletes must submit specific scores along with the corresponding videos. The registration fee is $50 USD.


Score Submission Windows

  1. Thursday, March 16, at 12 p.m. PT until Friday, March 17, at 12 p.m. PT.

  2. Friday, March 17, at 12 p.m. PT until Saturday, March 18, at 12 p.m. PT.

  3. Saturday, March 18, at 12 p.m. PT until Sunday, March 19, at 12 p.m. PT.


 

CrossFit Quarterfinals - Individual Workouts & Floor Plans


There is a different floor plan for each workout. It appears that there will be 5 different workouts. Watch the video of every workout below:




 

Individual Workout 1 - CrossFit Quarterfinals

  • Equipment Needed: Wall, Barbell, Rings

  • Workout:

    • 9 front squats (weight 1 - F: 155lb [70kg], M: 225lb [100kg])

    • 9 handstand walks (25 feet [7.6m])

    • 15 front squats (weight 2 - F: 125lb [57kg], M: 185lb [84kg])

    • 15 ring muscle ups

    • 21 front squats (weight 3 - F: 95lb [43kg], M: 135lb [61kg])

    • 21 chest-to-wall handstand push ups

Individual Workout 2 - CrossFit Quarterfinals

  • Equipment Needed: Dumbbell, Skipping Rope

  • Workout: 12 minute AMRAP

    • 8 dumbbell snatches on 1st arm (F: 50lb [22.5kg], M: 70lb [32kg])

    • 8 overhead walking-lunges on 1st arm (F: 50lb [22.5kg], M: 70lb [32kg])

    • 8 dumbbell snatches on 2nd arm (F: 50lb [22.5kg], M: 70lb [32kg])

    • 8 overhead walking-lunges on 2nd arm (F: 50lb [22.5kg], M: 70lb [32kg])

    • 40 crossovers

Individual Workout 3 - CrossFit Quarterfinals

  • Equipment Needed: Barbell, Box

  • Workout: 5 rounds for time

    • 5 burpee box jump-overs (F: 24 inch box, M: 30 inch box)

    • 1 clean and jerk* (F: 185lb [84kg], M: 275lb [125kg])

*Add one extra clean and jerk every round

Individual Workout 4 - CrossFit Quarterfinals

  • Equipment Needed: Rower, GHD Sit Up Machine

  • Workout: 20 minute AMRAP

    • 1,000-meter row

    • 50 GHD sit-ups

    • 500-meter row

    • 25 V-ups

Individual Workout 5 - CrossFit Quarterfinals

  • Equipment Needed: Pull Up Bar, Rope, Barbell

  • Workout:

    • 21 deadlifts, (weight 1 - F: 155lb [70kg], M: 225lb [100kg])

    • 21 chest-to-bar pull-ups

    • 15 deadlifts, (weight 2 - F: 185lb [84kg], M: 275lb [125kg])

    • 15 bar muscle-ups

    • 9 deadlifts, (weight 3 - F: 205lb [93kg], M: 315lb [143kg])

    • 9 rope climbs (15ft [4.5m])

CrossFit Quarterfinals - Team Competition Dates


Competition will run from March 29 through March 30. Over the course of two competition windows, athletes will have 24 hours to complete the tests provided and submit scores along with the associated video. The registration fee is $100 USD.

Important Dates:

  • March 20: Registration opens

  • March 27: Floor plans released

  • March 29 at 12 p.m. PT: All tests released

24-Hour Competition Windows:

  • Wednesday, March 29, at 12 p.m. PT until Thursday, March 30, at 12 p.m. PT.

  • Thursday, March 30, at 12 p.m. PT until Friday, March 31, at 12 p.m. PT.


 

CrossFit Quarterfinals - Age Groups Competition Dates


Competition will run from March 31 through April 1. Over the course of two competition windows, athletes will have 24 hours to complete the tests provided and submit scores along with the associated video. Registration fee is $50 USD.

Important Dates:

  • March 20th: Registration opens

  • March 27: Floor plans released

  • March 31 at 12pm PT: All tests released

24-Hour Competition Windows:

  • Friday, March 31, at 12 p.m. PT until Saturday, April 1, at 12 p.m. PT.

  • Saturday, April 1, at 12 p.m. PT until Sunday, April 2, at 12 p.m. PT
