What Was The 23.2 CrossFit Open Workout?


The 23.2 CrossFit Open Workout was split into 2 parts. Each element was scored separately, giving each athlete two chances to move up on the leaderboard.


23.2A CrossFit Open Workout


Complete as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes (AMRAP15):

  • 5 burpee pull-ups

  • 10 shuttle runs (1 rep = 25 ft out/25 ft back)

*Add 5 burpee pull-ups after each round.


23.2B CrossFit Open Workout


Immediately following 23.2A, athletes will have 5 minutes to establish:

  • 1-rep-max thruster (from the floor)

Best Female 23.2 Scores


This was an interesting open workout. Only 1 CrossFit Games athlete placed in the top 5 for 23.2A and 23.2B respectively.



Best Female Workout Times - 23.2A

  • 1st place: Paige Chapman - 272 reps (8 rounds + 12 burpee pull ups) 😳

  • 2nd place: Catherine Osborne - 209 reps (6 rounds + 35 burpee pull ups & 9 shuttle runs)

  • 3rd place: Natalie Roush - 188 reps (6 rounds + 23 burpee pull ups)

  • 4th place: Mal O'Brien - 188 reps (6 rounds + 23 burpee pull ups)

  • 5th place: Feeroozeh Saghafi - 186 reps (6 rounds + 21 burpee pull ups)


Best Female Weights - 23.2B

  • 1st place: Barrett Koons - 242lbs (110kg)

  • 2nd place: Kelsey Kiel - 238lbs (108kg)

  • 3rd place: Christine Middleton - 232lbs (105kg)

  • 4th place: Jessi Kuhlman - 230lbs (104kg)

  • 5th place: Dani Speegle - 227lbs (103kg)




 

Best Male 23.2 Scores


It was a similar story on the Male's side of things, where we did not see one CrossFit Games athlete place in the top 5 for 23.2A or 23.2B.


This highlights the importance of being good at an array of different movements instead of being great at one particular element of fitness.



Best Male Workout Times - 23.2A

  • 1st place: Oscar Lopez - 270 reps (8 rounds + 10 burpee pull ups)

  • 2nd place: Brandon Tate - 227 reps (7 rounds + 17 burpee pull ups)

  • 3rd place: Jae Hwan Lee - 221 reps (7 rounds + 11 burpee pull ups)

  • 4th place: Shawn Mcannalley - 210 reps (7 rounds)

  • 5th place: Aaron Washburn - 209 reps (6 rounds + 35 burpees & 9 shuttle runs)


Best Male Workout Times - 23.2B

  • 1st place: Graciano Rubio - 375lb (170kg)

  • 2nd place: Brett Pressley - 360lb (163kg)

  • 3rd place: Martin Feiferlik - 337lb (153kg)
